John T. Davis is known professionally as a high energy, jazz, blues & gospel organ player. Hammond B3 Organ is his preference.
His 2nd and 3rd favorite instruments to play are piano and synthesizer. If he chooses to play synth, it gives him a chance to stand and play, as well as sing. John has also been inspired to arrange play and sing, not only originals but great standards of many diverse styles, written by many great musicians, instrumental and vocal, who have influenced him over time.
Presently Mr. Davis is working on diverse musical projects starting primarily with an instrumental organ album of popular standards, along with a few new originals.
His current CD, "JOHN T. DAVIS AND FRIENDS LAST OF THE BLUES",introduces to you songs that he was inspired to write through the years, unlike the jazz blues quartet sextet organ ensemble that he is more known for. His next upcoming CD, JOHN T. DAVIS ORGAN TRIO ( LIVE ) will be more along these lines.
"LAST OF THE BLUES" gives Davis the opportunity to feature some of his musical friends, like the vocal stylings of the talented "Dianne Brooks" on the opening track or the firey trumpet of "Van Dixon"the smooth alto sax sounds of "Demo Cates or the melodic powerful tenor saxophone playing of Jim Heineman.
